Originally from the Midwest, I was born a die-hard Packer fan and grew up in the outskirts of Waukesha, WI. At 18, I made the ultimate 'Packer Pride' sacrifice for my education by crossing the enemy lines and attending the University of Minnesota where for four years, I studied graphic design while perpetually defending my Wisconsin roots. This challenge continued as I accepted an internship at The Jim Henson Company and moved out to Los Angeles, which is where I hang my hat to this day.
Since then I have managed to make my career as well rounded as the rest of my life and experiences. As a seasoned veteran in the entertainment industry, on the production side, I have been a production assistant and a coordinator in both visual fx and “behind the scenes” creative content. I’ve also continued my love for design as a visual fx artist, motion graphic designer, and have also worked with both web and print. Having worn many hats, I feel extremely comfortable and confident in this industry and am proud to say that my midwestern values still ring true in my personal and professional life. This includes a strong work ethic combined with a common sense approach, all topped with a 'get it done' attitude.
On the side, I‘m pretty active and love to keep my creative skills a movin’. I rock softball fields all over the west side at least three times a week and just to keep things interesting, I sing in a barbershop chorus. I’m a card carrying member of Sweet Adelines International, a women’s barbershop organization, and sing in the Santa Monica Chorus where I am on the board of directors and have additionally been given the role of marketing coordinator where I am honored enough to be able to do all of the design associated with the chorus, including our branding, new logo and creative marketing materials . And for overall sanity, I subscribe to the “being fit is being happy” theory. Last November (2010) I completed my first marathon. The Catalina Island Eco marathon turned out to be one of my greatest challenges to date as it qualifies as one of the most difficult marathons in the U.S. Typically, you can find me running, in an exercise class or at the gym any given day of the week.
